What Is The Hypostatic Union?
The Hypostatic Union is a doctrinal phrase used in theology that refers to the uncompromised and undiluted unity between Jesus’ divine and human nature. It answers the question, “Was Jesus 100 percent man, or 100 percent God?” The answer is He was both. Christ in all his humanity never ceased being 100 percent God, and Christ in all his divinity never ceased being 100 percent man. This relationship between the two natures in a single subsistence is what we refer to as the Hypostatic Union. [mp]
